Almost every week we receive stories like this one.  So, to help tell our story I am going to post a story each Tuesday.  We will call it, “Testimonial Tuesday”.  There is hope for Fibromyalgia recovery and I hope this story and many of the stories under the Testimonial tab will be an encouragement to you.  If you have any questions about your personal health concerns please feel free to contact us under the Contact Tab.              - Dr. Geoff Besso

“I first saw Dr. Geoff Besso, the all over body pain and aches from Fibromyalgia were so severe I was taking pain meds & ibuprofen every two hours 24/7. The brain fog was so bad that my short term memory was impaired to the point of quoting my phone number and address incorrectly for three weeks before I realized it. I had no energy and was sleeping off and on all day long. The osteoarthritis was so painful I couldn’t write or sew and had difficulty even holding a book. (It affected all my joints and back) I had asthma, heart palpitations, acid reflux and LPR.

I’ve been suffering for 25 to 30 years. In 2006 I had quit my job due to the pain and short term memory loss affecting my productivity. In 2007 I was determined fully disabled. My family doctor treated my symptoms for over 20 years with heart medications, heart catherization, stress tests, medications for acid reflux, inhalers, and increasing Aleve to four tabs every four hours instead of four a day. My family doctor didn’t believe in Fibromyalgia and thought the pain was all in my head. The pain was so severe in my knee that I went to an orthopedic doctor needing a total knee replacement due to arthritis. I saw a Rheumatologist for the pain and he diagnosed me with osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia. He prescribed pain meds, Lyrica, ibuprofen and sleeping pills.

When I first saw Dr. Besso, I was a little skeptical that the treatment he laid out for me was going to be a cure all, so to speak, for all I was going through. But within three visits my pain level was lessening. After six weeks the pain was so much less that I could go eight hours without pain meds. Now at twelve weeks my discomfort for Fibromyalgia and Osteoarthritis is being handled. The pain in my hands have diminished so I can write and sew for several hours a day and not hurt during or afterward either. The brain fog has cleared. The pain in my shoulders is gone so I can now sleep on my sides which I couldn’t do for 20 years. My hot flashes have subsided. I have more energy and not falling asleep every two hours.

The staff is so kind and treats everyone like family. Dr. Besso has made a believer out of me. I’m spreading the word. The changes I’ve experienced are amazing!!!”

Is Your Head Tilted to One Side? How Can This Imbalance Affect Wellbeing?

Have you ever wondered why you have one shoulder higher than the other?  Or why your head is tilted to one side?  Have you been told that you have one leg shorter than the other?  Do you have chronic muscle spasm at the top of your shoulders?

This adverse body position can cause stress, tension and pressure to the entire nervous system, most importantly the brain stem (base of the brain). This is very important, because our body shuttles millions of electrical and chemical impulses back and forth from the brain to every cell of our body each day. Any restriction or distortion of those messages (nerve impulses) can affect every body function.

Many of these nerve messages are unconscious such as breathing, digestion, and circulation. If this is not corrected, the long term effect is degeneration of that part of the body serviced by those restricted messages-resulting in mild to severe pain, lowered resistance to illness, behavioral changes, organ dysfunction, loss of mobility in limbs, and ultimately – disease.

5 Signs that Your Spine is Not In Line

The spinal column remains straight and balanced as long as the weight of the head is centered over the neck. When the weight of the head is shifted off center, due to an accident or injury, the body will compensate and move into an imbalanced position. In an effort to keep the head centered over the neck, the spine and pelvis will twist and lock into a stressed position.

This twisting, or imbalance, that is created will eventually show up in a few interesting ways.

Body Imbalance shows up with:

A Radically Different Approach to Healthcare

Upper cervical care is a radically different approach to health care.

To better understand how it works it is important to understand the body parts, how the nerve system operates and how the body communicates and functions.

Upper cervical doctors focus on the top 2 bones in the spine, the atlas and the axis or C1 and C2 respectively.  The atlas is at the top of the spine and bears the weight of our 10 pounds heads… mine might be a bit heavier, my wife claims. If the atlas is shifted out of its proper position it can cause all sorts of problems to occur.
